As a Participating Veteran from Afghanistan or Iraq/The Gulf War

1. The “Hands for Heroes” initiative applies to serving and retired military veterans from The Gulf War 1990-1991, Iraq Operations 2003-2009 and the Afghanistan Operations 2001- present. Whilst is understood that other servicemen have made huge sacrifices - care given to any veterans from other operations and conflicts is currently outside the scope of this scheme and is solely at the discretion of individual practitioners.

2. Free care is provided at the complete discretion of the chiropractor who reserves the right to with-draw or refuse care at any time without giving notice or reason.

3. Documentary evidence of military service in Afghanistan or Iraq must be provided in the form of an official Service Report. The chiropractor providing care reserves the right to refuse free care if there is any doubt as to the legitimacy of the claim.

4. “Hands for Heroes” is an initiative providing free care for veterans from the Gulf and Afghanistan conflicts. Care is provided at the office of the participating chiropractor, from the beginning of care to the first progress exam. This is typically 12 visits but may be between 10 and 14 visits depending on the protocol of the practice. The value of care donated by chiropractic offices is typically between £350 - £600 per person.

5. You health is valuable as is the time and resource of the “Hands For Heroes” practitioner you choose. A £50 DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED at the start of care which is fully refundable once recommended free care is completed. The deposit is retained if the participant fails to turn up for scheduled appointments during the recommended period on 2 separate occasions WITHOUT giving at least 24 hour notice to reschedule or cancel the appointment.

6. Once the free care period has expired there is no obligation to remain with the practitioner.

7. If a veteran decides during the care period to cease care then they may do so by informing the chiropractor verbally or in writing and provided the conditions of para 5 have not been breached, then a full refund of the deposit will be given.

As A Participating Chiropractor

Terms and Conditions For Chiropractors Participating in “Hands For Heroes:

1. The “Hands for Heroes” initiative applies to serving and retired veterans from The Gulf War 1990-1991, Iraq Operations 2003-2009 and the Afghanistan Operations 2001- present. Whilst is understood that other servicemen have made huge sacrifices - care given to any veterans from other operations and conflicts is currently outside the scope of this scheme and is solely at the discretion of individual chiropractic doctors.

2. In order to enter the scheme you must be willing to donate free care from the start of a veterans care to the first progress exam (which can vary from 10-14 visits depending on office protocols).

3. During the period the chiropractor remains in the scheme they must commit to provide free care for up to 10 war veterans. i.e. if 10 veterans are getting complimentary care then a waiting list can be maintained until one finishes their free care period. At which stage a veteran from the waiting list can start care.

4. Once registered in the scheme you must commit to staying in the scheme for one year.

5. The veteran will provide a £50 deposit to you at the time they register for free chiropractic care. The deposit is retained if the participant fails to turn up for scheduled appointments during the recommended period on 2 separate occasions WITHOUT giving at least 24 hour notice to reschedule or cancel the appointment.

6. Once the free care period has expired there is no obligation to remain under care with you. A full refund of the deposit must be given.

7. “Hands for Heroes” reserves the right to remove a chiropractor from the scheme at any time without giving notice or reason.

9. A license is granted to participating chiropractors to use Hands for Heroes logos and images whilst they remain in the scheme at no charge on the following understanding: a. all graphics and logos remain “ © Nov 2010 Hands for Heroes” and whenever possible the copyright should be displayed near the graphic.

b. "Hands for Heroes - Free Chiropractic Care for War Veterans" is the title of the organisation and should be used whenever possible to distinguish it from other similarly named organisations.

c. a clearly visible, in-pointing link to the www.handsforheroes.org or www.hands-for-heroes.org website should be located near the graphic if used on your webpage.

d. logos should not be altered in any way without permission from the Team at "Hands for Heroes - Free Chiropractic Care for War Veterans" BEFORE you use the altered graphic.

e. a clear area of at least 1⁄4 of the images width should be kept all around the image without any obscuring of the image to give a consistent brand identity. I understand these terms and conditions and I have retained a copy for my records.
